the easiest coop to clean

Easy to clean

Swap high-maintenance wood for smooth, wipe-clean surfaces that look brand new after a quick hose down. Cleaning is a breeze with the integrated slide-out droppings tray—just slide, dump into the compost, and you’re good to go.

We recommend the following cleaning schedule:

Empty tray: once a week

Hose down components: once a month

Pressure wash or scrub clean: twice a year. Once going into winter, and once coming out of winter.

Designed to Protect

Predator-Proof Mesh: Constructed from coated, welded steel wire to prevent rust and resist even the most persistent predators

Anti-Tunnel Skirt: A wide, flat wire base prevents predators from digging under the run

Enhanced Stability: Designed for use with Omlet Screw Pegs to lock the setup firmly to the ground

Inside the Eglu Go, your chickens will find a secluded, calm nesting area designed for peace and privacy. Simply add a bit of straw or pine shavings, and they’ll take care of the rest!

While your flock will love spending their days foraging outdoors (even in the winter!), they’ll have a cozy sanctuary waiting for them at night.

When it’s time to sleep, the integrated roosting bars allow them to grip comfortably and securely, while the slide-out tray below captures everything for a mess-free morning.

frequently asked questions

Does the Go have perches for sleeping on?

While the Eglu Go does not have traditional wooden perches, it does have specially designed perches with a structured surface and rounded corners for the chickens to sleep comfortably on at night.

Roosting bars allow the chickens to grip onto something while they sleep, which makes them feel safe and comfortable. As they climb up into the Go to roost, they also get the reinforced feeling of being off the ground. Although they don’t look like traditional wooden perches, roosting bars are great for larger breeds who find it tricky to jump up to a raised perch, or recently rescued hens who don’t have the strength to flap, and the shape of the bars makes sure most of the droppings fall straight onto the slide out, easy clean tray underneath.

Is the Eglu Go predator proof?

While the strong materials and thought out design makes it extremely hard for predators to get to your pets, no coop is 100% predator proof. Check the coop and run regularly to make sure all features are working as intended, including latches, doors and run clips.

If you live in an area with lots of predators, including small ones like martens and weasels, you might want to consider adding extra protection to your run.

Do I need an extreme temperature blanket for my Eglu Go?

Thanks to the twin wall insulation system, the Eglu Go will keep your chickens nice and warm in winter without any additional covers. The Extreme Weather Protection does, however, offer extra protection and will keep the insulated hen house warmer for longer, so if you live somewhere very cold it’s a great addition to your setup.

Is shipping free?

Shipping is free across Canada.

Can I extend my Go run at a later date?

The fully modular design allows you to extend your run anytime with the Run Extensions.

How warm is it inside the Go in winter?

The Eglu Go has twin wall insulation which works in a similar way to a flask. The Go insulated chicken coop retains the heat produced by your chickens to keep them warm in winter. How warm it will be inside depends on how many chickens you have in the coop, and whether or not you have left the door open.

Is the Eglu Go suitable for chicks?

The Eglu Go house is suitable for chicks over the age of 12 weeks. We recommend you remove the roosting bars from inside the coop until the chicks are big enough to perch and walk across the bars safely. The Eglu run is not suitable for chicks under the age of 12 weeks without supervision due to risk of escape and predators. You should use plenty of bedding in the coop to keep the chicks warm, and change the bedding every few days.

What are the 4 dots on the side panels?

These are molding marks that appear on all Go panels.

Love the new Eglu Go coop!

I think our new coop is perfect, so easy to clean. It was money well spent, in my humble opinion. The new coop was a cinch to put together - done in less than an hour. Seems to be very high quality. Got it for our rooster, Rusty, who is separated from the hens for over-mating roughness. So far at night he prefers to roost on the deck outside the door of the coop, but when the hens went in to check out the new coop they went right inside and gave it some very approving clucks. The hens have a large wooden custom built coop - so much labour intensive to maintain. Warm enough now at night for Rusty to roost on the little deck in front of the coop but in the colder months I am sure he will appreciate being in his little coop more. We built a nice stand for the coop to raise it up which increases the floor space in Rusty’s secure covered run. He now has a very nice set-up. If I was not using it for my rooster it would be a fantastic chicken infirmary or chicken jail because the hens seem to really like going into the new coop. One of the hens even laid an egg in there while checking it out on the 1st day after we set it up - so I take that as a sign of her approval.
